CHAPTER HISTORY
The establishment of Lambda Chapter began with nine distinct Latino men: Ismael Cantu, Carlos Gonzalez, Robert Chavez, Francisco Soto, James Tamez, Jesus Sanchez, Leonardo Gonzalez, Reynaldo Juarez, and David Estudillo. They searched campus for clubs or organizations that met their expectations and fulfilled their needs for an accepting social environment and an organization that put giving back to the community at the top of the list, but nothing caught their eye. It is with this in mind that they began to engage in the idea of forming their very own organization.
This organization would serve to satisfy their commitment to community involvement, as well as their individual social needs at the University. It soon became evident that the constant social interaction between these individuals would prove to be a major catalyst in establishing the Lambda Chapter of Omega Delta Phi Fraternity. After much hard work and dedication, Omega Delta Phi was founded at the University of Washington on April 20th, 1996 by the official 16 founding fathers: Miguel Puente, Robert Garza, George Castillo, Mark Benitez, Omar Riojas, Eugene Sanchez, Ismael Cantu, Carlos Gonzalez, Robert Chavez, Francisco Soto, James Tamez, Jesus Sanchez, Leonardo Gonzalez, Reynaldo Juarez, Santos Cardenas, and David Estudillo.
It was these individuals who began the great, yet never-ending, accomplishments of the Lambda Chapter. These individuals were Men of Vision who exhibited UNITY, HONESTY, INTEGRITY, and LEADERSHIP in their quest to establish the Lambda Chapter of Omega Delta Phi at the University of Washington.
